Database & Data Security
DMWData operates database systems using industry standard security
technology, a secure Digital SSL 128-bit Encrypted environment.
This creates an encrypted link between a web server and a browser,
ensuring that all data passed between the two remains private
and integral. We operate on a 24x7 basis and have only experienced
.5% unplanned downtime on all platforms in the past year. Average
planned downtime for NT platforms (system maintenance, scheduled
backups, etc.) was .5%. Like most companies, we experience rare
power outages due to extreme weather and to compensate, our data
center is equipped with a backup power generator to maintain client
systems generated during outages.
Data Center Security
Several measures are in place to prevent unauthorized system access
and damage. Network security controls electronic access to data
by requiring unique user ID/passwords to access the UNIX/NT operating
environment, marketing database, and to use query, reporting and
campaign tools. Security policies can also be implemented requiring
users to change passwords at predetermined intervals.
Our Information Processing Facility is located in Nashua,
NH with available staffing 24x7/year-round. User access, electronic
security, contingency and disaster prevention measures are integrated
into our data security function. The objective is to prevent unauthorized
access and interruptions that can affect resources and, when unpreventable,
to quickly and effectively recover from such outages.
Disaster Protection
Working closely with each client to define an appropriate custom
Disaster Recovery plan, we take into consideration theirs needs
and business risk they assign to the value of their database marketing
programs. To ensure continued processing of business, each client
system also consists of a core process for backup and recovery
with regularly scheduled hot and cold backups. Protection from
utility interruption (power, communications) is provided via an
uninterruptible power supply of emergency battery power.
